Asset-based community development (ABCD) data service
Thriving communities are connected communities
We live in benevolent and caring communities and there is already much be done by communities themselves to improve the social, economic, and ecological sustainability of our living and working.
Unfortunately, however there is no single place to easily identify other local resources and assets that can be engaged to assist and collaborate on the doing of good things. Consequently, this produces a range of avoidable issues, such as duplication of efforts, organisations inefficiently competing to secure the same resources and funds, proven solutions not being identified and replicated and most of all, missed opportunities to form engagements and collaborations toward resolving interrelated social challenges and issues.
Our asset-based community data mapping service available an open, accessible, and not-for-profit managed asset-based community development (ABCD) data service. That provides for the first time an accessible and universal rich set of data on organisations, business and community assets and groups that exist at a ‘place’ level.
A safe, digital space, and mechanism for assimilating vital information that can be engaged with to enable more creation of social value, through social prescribing services and solutions becoming more visible, accessible, and connected.
Critically, having a single central and maintained version of the truth, establishes at scale a genuine early intervention / prevention model of service in which individuals, families and communities needing support, can more rapidly and easily self-identify local services available and self-social prescribe themselves to connect with directly.
It also becomes a mechanism by which the third sectors capacity and availability of resource can become increased. As more people, communities, and businesses that care, are better able to match a desire to do more, with organisations and services that exist, and contribute subsequently time, support and / or other resources to the cause.
Local Community Groups
Where people come together and make great things happen
A visual place that enables groups or networks to describe themselves and become known, and able to identify and digitally connect with other local groups, networks, organisations and / or businesses, creating greatly improved opportunities for delivery of interconnected support and increased access to other local assets and resources to significantly improve outcomes over that of traditional siloed and theme-based approaches.
Social Enterprise and Coops
New economies and community wealth
Transformation of our communities and places is predominantly led by social innovators and enterprises that are leading the delivery of a new economy. They provide key local services, whilst creating new employment, local investment, and support active participation in community decision-making, and creation of increased community resilience and sustainability.
Local Charity and Voluntary Sector
Creating social purpose connections and collaborations
Local charities and voluntary organisations play a significant role in helping people and communities across all determinants of wellbeing. By increasing the awareness and connectedness we can better address the cause and effect of social challenges and issues that are holding people and communities back from thriving.
The Business Sector
Businesses becoming forces for good
For building greater corporate social responsibility (CSR) / B-Corp the solution can help commercial business and corporations to identify, connect and engage their social purpose missions in transformation of the local economy for the greater benefit of people, communities, and the environment. The solution can also be leveraged engagement on sustainability plans and supporting visual mapping of progress towards targets like NetZero for example.
Community Places and Spaces
Creating opportunity for better use of places and spaces
Enabling people and communities to identify their local assets and engage these to support delivery of services. There is no limit to what a useful asset may be, anything from meeting on a park bench, a friendly farmers barn, village hall to a ballroom!
Community led early intervention and prevention
A vital tool for local authorities and integrated care system service transformation and change requirements. Close local connections of people, families and communities is where the early recognition of emerging wellbeing need occurs. The creation of better empowered self-care capability and self-social prescribing connection to local community support is how reductions in demand on overstretched public services becomes a reality, and pathway toward sustainability becomes a realisable ambition.
